How To Segment Your Leads Based on Results

Lead Segmentation lets you segment subscribers based on their quiz results. Using this powerful tool lets you target your subscribers based on their individual interests, skill levels, and preferences.

This powerful tool enables Quiz Cat much more functionality to do many different things including: surveys, giveaways, advanced customer targeting, and more. It’s an amazing feature and very easy to setup.

Before you begin
-This feature is only available with a Quiz Cat Business, or Elite license.
-Make sure you have successfully integrated Quiz Cat with your email marketing provider.

Result segmentation is setup differently for every provider. To make things simple we have separated them each into tabs for you.

Select the tab for your provider for detailed instructions.

ActiveCampaign & Aweber & Drip

Segmentation for ActiveCampaign, Aweber & Drip

Segmentation for these providers is the same. It utilizes its Tags features.

Once you have integrated Quiz Cat and your email marketing provider you will see an option for adding tags in two places:

  • In the Settings tab; used to assign a tag for all users taking this quiz.
  • Under each result; used to assign a tag to users scoring that result.

You can add your own custom tags in each of these places. Or use the fields {{quiz_name}} and {{quiz_result}} to automatically add the quiz, and result, titles.

If you would like to learn more about using ActiveCampaign Tags and Campaigns, visit their support site HERE.

And to learn more about using AWeber Tags and Campaigns, visit their support site HERE.

And to learn about Drip Tags and how to utilize them, visit their support site HERE.

GetResponse

Segmentation for GetResponse

Segmentation with GetResponse is automatically activated. Once you save your quiz with your list setup, Quiz Cat will add a custom merge field to the selected list, titled after your quiz.

From there on out it will automatically add that individuals result under that field to your subscribers. That’s all it takes to Segment your leads in order to view your subscriber’s results and target your audience better. Here’s how it looks when inside a GetResponse contact:

MailChimp

Segmentation for MailChimp

Segmentation for MailChimp utilizes its Interest Groups feature.

Interest Groups must be created beforehand within your MailChimp account. To learn how head HERE. You will want to create an interest group for each quiz, and individual result, that you want to track.

Once you have setup your interest groups you will be able to select from them in 2 places.

  • In the Settings tab; used to assign a group for all users taking this quiz.
  • Under each result; used to assign a group to users scoring that result.

Convert Kit

Segmentation for Convert Kit

Segmentation for Convert Kit is based on using their “Tag” system.

First, you will need to create a tag, using this guide.

After this, click to view your tag in Convert Kit.

You will now copy the “subscribable_ids” from the link in your browser for the tag you are viewing. For example, the link in the browser for my “Result A” tag is “https://app.convertkit.com/subscribers?subscribable_ids=1234567&subscribable_type=tag”.

I will now copy and paste this “1234567” subscribable_ids into the “Tags” field of my Result A and click Add.

It will look like this after clicking Add. Then close this window and save your quiz at the bottom.

Now when someone adds their details to my quiz and lands on Result A, they will be tagged in Convert Kit with this specific tag.

Zapier

Segmentation for Zapier

Segmentation for Zapier is already handled within the initial integration. We automatically pass the ‘quiz title’ and ‘quiz result’ field to Zapier. You can send these data points to any fields that your providers action, within Zapier, supports.

Head here for more instructions.

If you did not already do this, you will need to edit your Zap or create a new one.

And that’s all there is to segmenting your subscribers, based on results.
